I'm betting on misconduct either with a subordinate or with a recruit.
The phrase “loss of confidence” is a generic euphemism that the military branches commonly use in announcing that officers and senior enlisted leaders have been relieved without addressing specifics that might be behind the decision like performance, misconduct or other issues.

So, Navy Commander= LTC/05. This is getting systemic for the Navy. I ask again, how are these 05-07s getting promoted and who supervises them?
This is at least good news for the Naval Academy Class of 2024 as there will be plenty of vacant positions for them to get AD commissions and fill.
