COMMENT - "Actually modern socialism isn't what is being taught in US schools. Google the top ten nations based on quality of life. Then google the top ten socialist nations. You will notice the bulk of them are socilist which includes many northern European Nations as well as Canada. So the definition is not simply workers controling production. Its much more complicated than that. Its about a responsible tax system where the wealthy pay their share. Its also a well regulated system that can control pricing on goods stopping endless price gouging. Its about a government who puts value in both education and healthcare and sees it as a right, a very basic fundimental right every person has no matter what family they were born into. Many of those nations have a basic guaranteed income for people who can't work because of illness or i jury which allows them to live with some dignity. Crime levels are lower in these countries as people don't need to resort to crime to survive like in the USA. No system is perfect or 100% doomed to failure. It's more about how those in power see their roll in government and who they serve and in the USA with its Ultra capitalism its just sucking every last drop of wealth from people for the top 2 percent of people. Wealth is a finite thing, in order to gain more wealth you need to take it from someone else. In order to have hundreds of billions of dollars think about all the people you would doom to poverty."
