..."The Vatican emphasizes that these blessings do not equate to Church-sanctioned same-sex marriages but provide an opportunity for gay Catholics to seek God’s mercy without exhaustive moral analysis.

LGBTQ advocates, such as Ryan Di Corpo and Francis DeBernardo, view the approval as a positive step forward, describing it as a significant change in the Church’s approach to LGBTQ Catholics."...

The Pope must be aware of the confusion such a decision will produce. I fear that any attempt by the Vatican to clarify the distinction between blessing a same sex couple and condoning their marriage will only grab headlines, and resolve nothing in the short-term. Only time will tell. God bless those who charged to lead.

It's especially painful because Protestants, although not bound to follow the Catechism of the Catholic Church, follow the goings on with regard to subjects of faith and practice with great interest. The United Methodists (US) and Anglicans have split amongst themselves between progressive and foundational groups. The Pope is a left, liberal communist, and therefore could care less about traditions or foundations of anything.
