"USS Williams (DD-108), a Wickes-class destroyer, commissioned in 1919, served in the Mediterranean, providing crucial information about minefields. She then joined the Pacific Fleet until decommissioning in 1922. Recommissioned in 1939, she participated in various missions along the Atlantic coast and Caribbean. Transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940, renamed HMCS St. Clair (I65), she played a vital role in convoy escort duties. She was later repurposed as a depot ship and then a hulk before being scrapped in October 1946."
