6,768 pounds of ground beef products have been recalled by an Illinois meat producer after E.coli, which is a potentially dangerous bacteria, was found in samples. Ready-made burger patties were one of the products to have had E.coli found in them, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said.

Valley Meats, who are pork and beef wholesalers operating in 27 states, said in an alert on Sunday that they were recalling seven different beef products amid concerns that they be contaminated. There are fears that some of the meat may already "be in institutional or restaurant refrigerators or freezers."
