COMMENT - "Paul, there was 35,000 VDV+17,000 Spetsnez before the start of the invasion. At least half of those guys are gone by the most conversative estimates. There was an excellent British two part video series about one VDV regiment which took their drastic losses in one year. The Russian authorities made it difficult to report the total losses. They used Russian websites of the families to get the most of their information. That new VDV brigade sent to Krynky was a VDV brigade in name only. The Ukrainian marines & drones slapped those guys into a purely defensive role."
