U.S. forces carried out strikes in Iraq against three facilities used by Iran-backed militias south of Baghdad on Tuesday, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in a statement.
The strikes, which the president authorized according to Austin, took place in retaliation for multiple ballistic missile and rocket attacks Iranian-backed militias launched at al-Assad Airbase in Iraq hosting U.S. troops, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement. U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria, there to assist with the ongoing campaign to defeat the Islamic State (ISIS), have come under attack more than 150 times since the first attack in Iraq in response to U.S. support for Israel, according to the Pentagon.

This admin is applying western standards and culture to the Iranians, when as those of us who deployed know -- the culture over there understands power and strength not empathy. When Iran attacked Pakistan 2 weeks ago - Pakistan responded powerfully -- and now there's crickets. Yet sadly here we are...smh

Amn Roger Omberg They've been on the disposal list for decades. Remember, they were developed to create LZs during Vietnam. Explosives degrade over time and Trump was lucky there were still a few around when he used one.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Yes SIR, I recollect that when I was active duty, that's about time they came on the scene, that was around the early 60,s I suppose,
Agent orange, & all the rest. I do remember they had to beef up the C 130 to make sure they were airworthy with that kind of weight. there was some talk about them in the radar rooms. Have a blessed day, Sir. SALUTE.

Too little, too late. Its about time that the US struck back on these Iranian proxies. Maybe someone in the WH has finally grown some balls, but I doubt it. These terrorists should feel the full wrath of the United States. They should be eradicated from the face of the earth, like the plague that they are.
