Alabama has carried out the nation’s first execution by nitrogen asphyxiation.
Pay-for-hire murderer Kenneth Smith stabbed a preacher’s wife to death in 1988. The state tried to execute him once through lethal injection, which failed. This time, it used the novel method of death by nitrogen hypoxia.
The courts rejected Smith’s lawyers' appeals, which were based on the idea that the nitrogen process is so unknown that it constitutes cruel and unusual punishment. The state says it should cause relatively "painless" death within minutes.

A Very Wealthy, Well Known & Somewhat Powerful Man...... He'd Been On His Way Home When Someone Tried To Run Him Off The Road, With The Intent Of Robbery.....
Before Jim Escaped, He Looked At, And Memorized, The Licence Plate Numbers.....
Upon Arrival At His Home, He Picked-Up The Telephone & Contacted The Chief Of Police.....In Under 1 Hour, The Person Was Caught ~~ Then Brought To My Brother's House.....The Police Officer (Military), Removed His .45 From His Holster ~ Handed It To Jim & Asked "Would You Prefer Doing This On Your Porch Or In Your Front Yard;?
I'd Suggest Taking Care Of It In Your Yard, It's Less Of A Mess & Is Easier For The Area To Be Cleaned".... SO, Jim Said He Looked At The Guy, Raised The .45 And Said " I Could Easily Kill You, BUT I Want You To Be In My Office At My Insurance Company,
"La Tienda de Seguros", At 8 AM, And I'd Advise You To Be There... Jim Hired Him.

Personally, I think anesthetizing with propofol prior to inhalation of the gas might be a better method. Just saying.

Maj Robert Thornton - one of the problems is companies that produce anesthetic drugs are adverse. Kill him using sevo then when some comes in for an operation and asks “what are they using? The anesthetist says sevo. The patient responds “You mean the drug they use to kill people”. Nitrous Oxide is used in industry, race cars etc. it easy to get etc.and is cheap and provides analgesia and memory loss.
