This is pretty scary when government can convict with no evidence. Prosecute and persecute using a jury of people that hate you. It appears that the Jim Crow tactics have not disappeared.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I very much liked how you laid out the facts concerning the issue in your response. Very clear and indisputable. And while I know I should not be surprised at this point, it still bothers me that a certain segment of our population prefers being lied to and the lengths some people will go to propagate those lies.

First, there was no conviction, as this was a civil case and the government wasn't prosecuting Trump. Second, this was the second suit against Trump for defaming Carroll, and a jury already found that he was liable for defaming her, based on the evidence presented in that case. Third, once a fact has been established in a previous case, you don't get to re-litigate it, there are no do-overs. Fourth, Trump had the opportunity to testify at the first trial, and refused to do so, even after the Judge gave him extra time to return to New York to do so. Fifth, this case has nothing in common with Jim Crow laws or the tactics used to enforce those laws. Sixth, Trump had the opportunity in the first trial to bring up all of the issues outlined in the propaganda published by Breitbart, and failed to do so.
