Florida Gov Ron DeSantis sending National Guard troops to assist Gov Abbott at southern border

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday announced that he is sending National Guard troops from his state to support Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s efforts to stop the influx of illegal immigration at the southern border. In a Thursday morning press conference, DeSantis announced he is sending a battalion of “up to” 1,000 soldiers of the Florida National Guard to Texas (Fox News). Florida’s Voice: “These illegals don’t even need photo ID! They can fly on our planes without photo ID. You talk about putting the American people last (…) It is a total farce” This comes after a critical decision was passed down from the Supreme Court allowing federal Customs and Border Patrol agents to remove barbed wire placed by Texas National Guardsmen along the border.
