Good idea. My husband's school did Colonial Days and the kids loved it. He did something similar on a classroom level for Native Americans (the tribes located in Virginia)

My wife tells how her mother would tell them stories about the tribal history. This was mostly a winter activity, when the weather was too bad to go outside, so they would stoke up a warm fire and sit around the hogan while the mother would relate various stories. My wife regrets not paying more attention to those stories.
