Robert Plamer songs always remind me about a field exercise I was on in 1990. We had gone to NTC for a month, with two weeks in the field. We came back to the Staging Area nasty and dirty and spent the next several days cleaning our vehicles and getting nastier and dirtier. The installation had a video jukebox, and someone had played “Simply Irresistible.” I love the song, so I was dancing by myself (with a lot of hip movements, like the women in the video). Then I noticed the guys were watching me instead of the video, and I thought they were nuts: I was older and overweight, the women were young, tall, and gorgeous. What was really crazy is when someone played the song again immediately! Tell Granny Sandy that the fellas will look at your granddaughters even if they are not long and lanky. (Yes, I kept dancing; they should have thrown dollars.)
