PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Tragic situation. It's unfortunate but bullying is a problem in every school and every grade. Students are generally reluctant to report issues of bullying for fear of retaliation by their peers. We have strong anti-bullying policies here at my school but unless we know it happening we have no way to take action.

The police shouldn't have even issued anything. I saw a doctor who explained what was in the "preliminary" autopsy.

Just because the ME said that their death wasn't a result of "trauma" doesn't mean the fight had nothing to do with it. There are other ways a physical altercation can lead to someone's death that aren't directly related. He also said he can't speculate what it was, nor can anyone else who doesn't have access to the information until the autopsy is made publicly available.

Bottomline - a 16 year old CHILD is dead. This child was living in a place that was toxic for them. Being a queer student is apparently not safe in OK or in that city.

If anyone is "celebrating" that their death wasn't result of the fight, those people need help. A CHILD is dead and it happened after they were viciously attacked.

People need to imagine if this was your 16 year old child - whether LGBTQIA or not - you would be LIVID if someone brutally assaulted your child and then they died.

I guarantee the school knew about bullying and did nothing as is what typically happens no matter who the student is.
