Maj John Bell - And CPS/DCFS, whatever it's called in each state, is horribly corrupt and kids have been put back in abusive homes and sometimes it's excused as "religious freedom." So spare me that bs that CPS removes kids who are abused. Especially when kids have died in CPS care or in foster care. Plenty of parents have gotten away with sending their kids to these camps etc.

If it's not in their education record and hasn't been officially changed, then FERAP doesn't apply...

SFC (Join to see) - So what's your solution? "Silence is golden?" What is the likelihood that given the light of day, assets may be brought to bear for a better all-around solution than silence. What is the likelihood that by being kept in the dark, parents may engage in behavior that unintentionally does more harm. Given the choice between a government one size fits all approach or the probability that parents will do right by their kids, my money is on the parents.

Every year about 35 per 100,000 kids in foster care die. For those under parental care the figure is about 25 per 100,000. So, the difference is about 10 per 100,000.

Unfortunately the data I found does not differentiate between accidental death, homicide, illness etc. But the data base acknowledges a raft of confounding variables with higher incidence among kids in foster care than among kids under parental control (poor pre-natal care, post-natal care, poverty, chronic illness, behavioral problems, etc.) that were beyond the ability of the researchers to isolate.

About 12% of children will experience sexual molestation or assault during their school years by a member of their school staff.
