Both Crumbleys were found guilty in separate trials on four counts of involuntary manslaughter. Each of those charges carried a maximum penalty of 15 years, and the sentences are to be served concurrently.

Personally I am happy that parents are being held liable for the actions of juvenile children, unfortunately it seems that too many are not parenting and society it receiving the brunt of this. We had a murder here this week, a 13 year old kid carjacked a 62 year old man at Walmart and killed him. WTF

They are narcissistic, selfish beings who never should have had a child. They totally failed him. I am glad they will do jail time.

While I believe the prosecution and sentencing justified in this specific case, I foresee hundreds (if not thousands) of parents headed to prison in the future. How many parents can HONESTLY say they know exactly what their child is doing or thinking at any given point? Especially considering many parents now work multiple jobs 12-16hrs daily just to provide barely adequate housing and nutrition for the family.
