A tug towing a barge out of the Duwamish River toward Ballard polluted local waters this week. The state Department of Ecology says the tug spilled up to 150 gallons of hydraulic oil on Tuesday. A propeller shaft break may have been the cause.

We are water stupid as a nation. Sometimes farms are given unlimited rights to pump water out of rivers. This included huge foreign owned farms. They often pump water without limits to grow feed for the livestock in their countries because those countries lack the water to grow the feed.
How we water crops and plants at farms are inefficient and we don't recycle enough wastewater. Water in some states are permanently polluted now. Trump gutted the EPA, and gave the power of regulation to corporations. That was a huge setback to the endeavor to be environmentally responsible. We see all these problems and potential problems only to see them come true.
