Lt Col Charlie Brown They are lucky that's all it was. Ours went up over 60%. I contested the increased property value one year and told the judge who overheard the case that if the county believed my property was really worth as much as they said it was they should be required to buy it for that price. "That's not how it works, Mr. Burk" was his response.

SFC (Join to see) Many families saw their property values skyrocket due to inflation which lead to higher property taxes in addition to the fact they just raised taxes per $100.00 of value last year as it is. Some saw a re-assessed value of their property well over 100% from the last assessment five years ago.

Ours are raised per $1000 of assessed value. But don't let that fool you, the dollar amount I pay absolutely doubled 2 years ago and went up 2% this April and so far the city council has decided on a 6% increase for next year.

CPL Douglas Chrysler - When will it end? Maybe when nobody can afford to own a home. I know people who pay more per month in taxes than what my house payment was before I paid it off. Insanity.

I am probably the only one on here who has seen his property taxes go down, not a great deal, but down
