And the Israeli Ambassador . . . 6 January type attitude - in "diplomatic tantrum" style.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel The US recently vetoed a bid for full membership, but Friday's vote can be seen as a gesture of support for the Palestinians... and rightly so...

They should be required to co-operate with capturing Hamas before being admitted.

SGT (Join to see) If Israel had met the conditions of UN membership, there would not have been a Hamas<sigh>

Hamas is the leadership that lives as billionaires in other nations. Who knows who the militias and brigades are? It is likely to be young men who are religiously radicalized, because Hamas is a branch of the radical "Muslim Brotherhood" which Egypt used to routinely round up by the hundreds to put in prison, in decades past because of their violent radical terrorism.
And U.S. complained about Egypt doing that, when terrorist group were rampant in the 60s and 70s, funded by Russia and trained by Cubans (Yemen was one of the training place where bin Laden got his start.

The U.N. membership conditions?
3. Instead of negotiating a final partition agreement, Israel said f_ it and refused to negotiate the borders; then Israel was declared a state - by the terrorist gangs who for two months before told Palestinians to leave or they would be killed, then started massacring people in villages until it got to Deir Yasin a larger village where it slaughter men, women, children . . . which resulted in two things . . . the Nakhba i.e. Palestinians fled from the territory Israel claimed and became refugees, and the people in the Stern and Irgun gangs peopled the first government of Israel.

2. Palestinians have not been permitted to return. Those who did not leave in 48, hid and managed to escape being killed for two months, then were only allowed to stay (I would have to check on the reason of the facts to be sure) though it was some agreement - maybe with U.S. or Britain who would not recognize Israel as a nation unless it allowed the few Palestinians who did stay, to remain without killing or harming them. U.S. was first to recognize Israel which was not well supported in U.S.
3. And the status of Jerusalem was altered - it was not to be the capital of Israel it was to become an international city - to keep it safe and open to all.

Perhaps Israel should be asked to leave the U.N., if it continues to refuse to meet the conditions?

Israel should end the occupation of Palestinian Territory, and not object to Palestine being recognized as a nation, which it has been throughout Ottoman times, and always as a region (which included Lebanon) - even known worldwide as the region of Palestine when the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah existed within Palestine.
