Why would anyone in the medical field want to work in a state where politicians determine health care rather than doctors?

Decisions have consequences. It's already bad enough here. I did a HIPAA risk assessment at a rural hospital last year. Their obstetrics ward was already closed. They hadn't been able to keep a doctor on staff for a few years already. Imagine when that starts happening in the larger metro areas where these rural hospitals are currently sending their pregnant patients.
