Loved this. My Dad always had us carry a pocket knife, a quarter, a handkerchief, a lighter (even tho we were kids and didn’t smoke) and a dollar bill in our sock. So that way we were never broke. Most of us boys carried a “pocket protector” so our Schafer Ink Pens wouldn’t leak all over our white school shirts. And reading the Sunday funnies, is still a favorite childhood memory. In color!

SSgt Kelly D. We still have them, but the funny thing is that the printed edition has far less than the online edition.

I used to deliver the Sunday funnies along with the massive Sunday paper....first job...the paper boy...dogs still hate me.

SGT Kevin Hughes Same here, but I guess technically it's a fob, not keys :-))

Pocket knife (Schrade Old Timer), a DIME for a phone call, and the "ring" on the wallet... :-)

Do you mean the “ring” a rubber leaves in a Wallet? I was afraid to mention that. My older brothers had one in their wallets. Not sure if that was for luck, or wishful thinking.

SGT Kevin Hughes In my days the Catholic girls had that ring somewhere in their purse.
