Kansas City honors lesbian pioneers with historical marker in Womontown

Kansas City, Missouri, is making strides this Pride Month by honoring the lesbian pioneers of a neighborhood known as Womontown. The neighborhood, developed and lived in by lesbians, was a safe haven for the community in the 1990s. Lesbians and their supporters bought dozens of homes and apartments on these blocks, creating a community they could call home.
