How long is an attosecond? There are 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (quintillion) attoseconds in 1 second. To put it another way, 1 quintillion inches is over 2.68 light years (over 15 trillion miles). They are able to see things we've never seen before.

This attosecond microscope may just be the scientists key to our ability to travel the universe... Well I am just projecting, but having said that, I was amazed to read that this Attosecond Microscope has shown that it can perceive electrons down to 1 attosecond, which is defined as one quintillionth of a second!!! It can see down to the electron level and particles involved with it... Simply mind boggling for the average person... Outstanding share, Maj William W. 'Bill' Price!
