What happens if looming insolvency is not addressed
If Social Security is not addressed by Congress and the president before projected insolvency, the program would not go bankrupt or be unable to pay benefits, but those benefits would be cut and delayed.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. If the Feds would put the three trillion they stole from it forty years ago it would be ok.

I believe a good start would reverting back to Social Security taxes going strictly to the Social Security fund. The funds are used in the general revenue fund budget. If they would leave the taxes dedicated to Social Security there would be no problem.

TSgt James Herslebs - Exactly! But our government officials don't see it that way. Back when they put social security in the general budget our congressmen and women didn't have to pay into it so they didn't care. Now they do pay into social security and still don't care because they will have their lifetime pensions at the taxpayers expense.

I didn't know congress and the senate along with all the budget committees were getting their advice on how to spend from my wife.
