Fires in Southern California continue to burn, with extreme weather endangering hundreds of thousands of residents more than a week after flames ignited in the hills of Los Angeles County. Officials are reporting 25 fatalities and say the number is expected to increase.
The cause of the fires is still under investigation, and firefighters were working tirelessly to control the flames on Jan. 14, while a strong wind warning was delayed until early the next morning and expected to last until mid-afternoon.
“We’re absolutely better prepared for this coming ... severe fire weather event,” Anthony Marrone, Los Angeles County fire chief, said during a morning briefing on Jan. 13. “We’ve not only augmented the ground resources, but also the air resources.”

Lt Col Charlie Brown It would be bad enough to lose you home and all you have worked for but to lose a family member to the fires, I can't imagine what that would be like. My prayers to all affected.

And to think, none of these fires would have occurred if the lame politicians paid more attention to the people and the inherent nature of the land, sea, and deserts which have spawned tremendous fires due to the Santa Anna winds and careless people with cigarettes and matches! No water in the reservoirs and little to no water at the fire hydrants!!! Heads should roll, but probably won't in the woke state of CA... Just saying... BTW I hear that more that one individual was arrested with a torch in hand... If true, those people should fry in prison IMHO!

Lt COL Charlie Brown, The fires in California is a tragedy and the people deserve Govt. support and our prayers. It seems that the country is forgetting all about the poor people still suffering from the flooding in North Carolina. I guess that those people in North Carolina just arent as imporntant in the govt.s eyes. It seems that it is a battle between rich and poor, liberals an conservatives. this situation really sucks.
