The Perseus Molecular Cloud lies 830 light years away. Based on current observations, many scientists believe our Solar System evolved in a similar fashion beginning some 4.5 billion years ago. This composite image of multiple 600-second exposures was produced by an amateur astrophotographer in Rockwood, Texas.
