Good afternoon, Rallypoint, and welcome to this edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) for March 8, 2025.
This long-exposure image was captured aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule docked at the International Space Station (ISS). The orbital velocity of ISS is around 17,000 miles per hour, so to see the Earth 'whizzing' by is expected. Orbital sunrise occurs ~16 time per day, Do you see the two 'galaxies' in the upper left corner? Those are the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds.

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price This was a spectacular photo capture by Astronaut Don Petit, who pointed his camera out the window of a Dragon crew spacecraft docked with the International Space Station on January 29th. Keep them coming, Bill!
