I'd Only HOPE To Have His COURAGE,
I'd Have To Question Mine;
I've Never Even Been Deployed.

A Kentucky boy. He has a book called "Into the Fire". It's worth the time to read it. Someone told me he had just re-enlisted, I'll dig around and see if that is true.

He did re-enlist with his oath being done by SECDEF. Great to see him back in uniform but I fear as a sgt it is not going to go very well. To much publicity and I wish he had just be sworn back in by some random officer. Imagine trying to be the leadership of an MOH recipient that is buddy buddy with so many higher-ups. Probably would do all a favor to waiver him and find a way for him to commission. He carries himself well and would likely be a great Marine officer but as a junior NCO, might be rough sailing.

MAJ Byron Oyler -
There's At Least 2 Officers In Here Whom Worked Their Way Up Through
Their Enlisted Ranks To Become Military Offices. I Know One To Be A Major
And The Other's Either An LTC Or A FULL BIRD, I Don't Presently Recall Which
But They Both Should Be On Posters With The Caption Reading:
