Lt Col Charlie Brown I had a VW Vanagon and it was the same with us. Whenever you saw one passing by you, the wave was on!

Back In around 1967 I Was Selling Insurance In California And Opened My Scheduling Sheet To The Next Customer By The Name Of "Richard R. Smothers " In Woodland Hills.
I Was Driving My First Benz, A Used 1964 Model 150; As I Pulled Up In Front Of This Customers Residence, In The Driveway Was A VW Bug And A VW Van... Then I Rechecked The Address; Yup Richard R. Smother, Aka "Dickie Smothers" Of "The Smothers Brother Comedy Show" ~ My Benz Just Got Out-Classed By A VW Van And 1 Bug

Harley riders is the same, except the day when our group were on the highway in Arizona, one day 2009 going to Sturgus. A guy passed us doing 85mph, drinking his coffee, and didn't wave. Lol
At our next stop, we all looked at each other and asked, "Did you see that guy drinking his coffee", didn't even wave at 85mph. Hahahahahahaha!

Not Familiar With The JEEP,
Buy In The 1960's We V.W. Owners Would Wave To Each Other While Driving Down The Roads & Highways, In Recognition Or Also Being A VW Fan.
I Bought My 1st In 1962, It Was A 1952 VW With The Port-Hole Rear Window And The 36 HP Engine ~~ To Hit 65 MPH, I Needed To Be On A Sloping Road With A 90 Degrees Angle As I Drove Off A Cliff,

I've had several Jeeps over the years and very rarely waved at, or been waved to, by another Jeep driver.
