Interesting 9 items. I take most of them under advisement, already do some of the suggestions.

One thing I did right in the shower was listen to the pipes - if they started banging there was a big slug of steam making its way toward your head. We had roughly 50 seconds between steam slugs. Made for quick showers, when we weren't on water hours, which was often on an old steam cruiser.

Do you know that at first I had a mental image of you with a large snail with no shell stuck to your forehead?! (Sounds more gentle than the steam, though! Holy cow!)

Nicci Eisenhauer - Better than two horns, which most people thought I had.

Nicci Eisenhauer I only skipped showers in Korea, because of the huge critters who wanted to show with you.

When I was in PR over the summer in the Rainforest, I showered with a lot of these weird little transparent frog that could do triple twists with a half-sumi in mid air to escape you. They needed no dissecting (even if you could catch them), because you could see right through to their entrails. And then there was one interesting voyeur: a lizard who lived in the sink drain who'd stick his head out the overflow hole to "keep you company" when you showed up to use the loo or shower. I'm not so sure I'd like to meet the Korean critters. Eeks!

Nicci Eisenhauer - My son who is a retired Colonel had to tours of Iraq. His stories about the "monsters," that were crawling around there was pretty scary. When he showered, he had to be constantly looking around because snakes like to warmth of the shower area. On e time there as a red snake above his head in the shower. He jumped out of there in a hurry. He asked his 1st sergeant about it. He said my son was very lucky as the story goes: If it is black you are OK, but if it is red you are dead!!
