Both major parties want to CONTINUE destroying the Republic that the founders created in 1787-1789, of course that republic had already been dismantled long before any of our current politicians were even born.

"In Order to form a more perfect Union" indicates our founders knew there would be the need for some changes.

MSG Stan Hutchison - - actually I'd say that foreseeing a need for changes would more accurately be reflected in Article V. The small snippet you quoted from the Preamble clearly refers to the fact that the document was a revision of their original attempt at forming a union through the Articles of Confederation.
The founders decided that a stronger but still limited federal government would be "more prefect" than their earlier attempt. We The People, on the other hand, quickly told them that their stronger federal government would be acceptable only with significantly more limitations, and thus the Bill of Rights was quickly added (using Article V).

Unfortunately, both sides have been complicit in this endeavor. I do believe though, that the democrat party has been more active in the attempted destruction.
