Lt Col Charlie Brown Six hours of uninterrupted sleep would be great but rarely happens for me!

Me either. I made it 6.5 but had a couple of wakeups...fortunately, I went right back to sleep

yup, maybe 3 hrs and make a pit stop then maybe another 3 hrs. I'm turning into my mother, bed at midnight up at 0500 but I can stretch it out more than she would.

I'm not any of those 5 types. I have OSA so bad when I got my sleep study results, they said it's a miracle I'm alive, and yet I didn't know there was anything wrong until the nurse anesthetist who assisted at my first colonoscopy told me I needed to get checked out for sleep apnea. I'm REALLY looking forward to what good sleep is like (once I get my CPAP, tomorrow) compared to what I consider "normal" sleep!

Lt Col Charlie Brown - It's kind of you to ask! Mostly good news. The first night went great, but I woke up at 5 with 7 hours on the machine. I felt sleepy, but probably because I got up 2 hours earlier than normal. And I had dry mouth. The second night, I turned the humidity way up. Bad move. I got water in the line, it made all kinds of noise. I was on the machine over 4 hours, so I get credit for "compliance." But it wasn't great. Third night, like the first, 7 hours, and I went to bed later so I got up later, felt great. Last night, I don't know what happened. I know I took the mask off in the middle of the night, but don't remember why. 3 hours and 20 minutes on the machine beats zero, but is a no go for compliance. I think meeting minimum standards 3 of the first 4 nights is a good sign, and hitting 7 hours in two of them is great. So far, pretty good!
I had been told that because I was deprived of REM sleep because of my bad OSA, I would have extra vivid dreams for a few days. Hasn't happened yet...

we all pass thru REM 4 t 5 times a night. Many do not recall their dreams. There are 8 streams of awareness. Sleep is critical to reair, restoration and memory consolidation
