I had a 1997 Toyota forerunner Limited that was hard to let go of. I had almost 500,000 miles on it.

SFC Jo Ann Klawitter My goal the day I bought this car was to get at least a quarter million miles out of it. I have a record on a excel spreadsheet that has every fill up, the mileage I got out of the last tank, the cost per mile off of each tank of gas, where it was purchased plus the cost per mil and overall gas expense and averages. I keep another spread sheet on things like oil changes (I do them all myself) cost of parts such as brakes, air filters, tires etc.

Cpl Vic Burk I used to take care to mark everything down, but I finally gave it up
I kept the receipts from place where I had all my work done
I begin to get big items that needed to be replaced and finally the place that fixed. It said this isn’t going to go anymore. You need something else.

SFC Jo Ann Klawitter vultures will wear you down. They take your vehicle and drive another 200,000 miles. There is a special place waiting for these kind of people.

Cpl Vic Burk ditto that. I have a 1999 Honda Accord 124,000 miles. When I take it in for oil changes they tinkle and make other stuff wrong to try to make me get another new car. The car sits on the parking pad. My car is sought after because of the cool modifications (Fast and Furious Franchise) plus the break in milage is 200,000. The engine life is 400,000. There are so many evil, deceitful and dangerous business people.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard That's why I don't like to take my car to dealers. They know how to screw your car up so it doesn't fail right away but you will have to take it back for repair work later. A co-worker took his Toyota truck in for brakes, a week later his water pump was leaking. Okay, things happen. His mother took in her Corolla for an oil change. Less than two weeks later, her water pump started leaking. Still yet, his brother took in his Tundra, you got it, a couple weeks later his water pump was leaking. The housing on all of them was cracked. Coincidence? I think not.

Cpl Vic Burk I wonder why people are jumping out of their skins to support free enterprise.

Cpl Vic Burk Once any vehicle of mine is out of warranty I stop going to the dealer period. Even if its under warranty I go to the mechanic I've used for years for some things unless the dealer does them for free as part of the warranty.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen and dealerships are suppose to appreciate the patrons who support them and their free enterprise. It is vultures like this that convince the general public to shop online. Ethnic Group, Age, Weight, Party Affiliation, etc. does not matter, only PayPal.

My 2013 Prius V has over 135000 miles. Just had the brake pads replaced at my last service. I expect to run it over 300000 miles eventually.
