I remember my Uncles talking bout this and a few of their friends. Some were with Patton, others were stuck in that small town. After the War while still in Germany one of my Uncle's friends asked a newly released German Officer POW what he thought of American Gi's. He said: "You have no discipline, you chew gum in Formation, you can't march for shit. You don't know how to wear a Uniform Properly and show no respect for Superior Officers. All you can do...is fight. "
I wonder if other Germans had the same opinion of our GI's.
