Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the January 7, 2026 edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD). We leave the planet Jupiter and return to Earth for this view of the Spaghetti Nebula (aka Sharpless 2-240) from Forca Canapine, Italy. The nebula lies about 3,000 light years away between the constellations Taurus and Auriga. Observations suggest we are looking at the remnant of a supernova that occurred some 40,000 years ago.
