Today, we honor Four Chaplains Day, remembering the extraordinary courage and selflessness of Lt. George L. Fox, Lt. Alexander D. Goode, Lt. John P. Washington, and Lt. Clark V. Poling.
On February 3, 1943, as the USAT Dorchester sank, these four Army chaplains, of different faiths, gave up their life jackets and comforted fellow Soldiers, embodying unity, sacrifice, and unwavering service in the face of danger.
Their legacy reminds us that strength is found not only in physical resilience, but in compassion, faith, and putting others before self. We must remain committed to honoring that spirit by standing with our nation’s wounded warriors: yesterday, today, and always.
