Having seen them a couple of times, in different parts of the world...even though I know how bad they are for satellites and people in space...I can't help but stand in awe. Just flipping beautiful.

Amazing photo. We used to get some amazing Aurora views when flying missions over Northern Canada in the 70s

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - wow! That is so cool. I saw the night sky from the top of Mauna Kea, and once from the side of a mountain in Germany ...and just being 12,000 feet above the ground made it spectacular. And several times out in the middle of the Pacific, I saw the night sky with nothing around for thousands of miles...and that was another cool sight.
