Pentagon says recruiters not allowed to carry arms.

According to this post, the Pentagon has decided to not allow recruiters or military office staff to carry arms for fear of "scaring" passersby, or interested students, mentors. What do you think about this? Should the "Armed" Forces be allowed to carry weapons on duty for protection, especially considering the Chatanooga shooting, in which I lost a dear friend? The article also mentions government issued partitions for recruiting offices. I bet the pentagon won't drop there armed guards!
I myself believe that all soldiers should be allowed to bear arms, with proper training, while on duty. I also believe Soldiers should have other alternatives to recieving a state carry permit than to pay ~$200 dollars. (In Tennessee). And yes I know there is a military form that a commander can sign off on that allows Soldiers to skip the classroom portion if they have qualified with m9s. But how many commanders are gun-hoe on that?

I believe that we should have the right carry for self defense under the 2d Ammendment. Especially since there are people in this country, and around the world, who are actively promoting the murder of US Servicemen and women. We are trained to defend our Nation, we should be allowed to defend ourselves.

Thank you for your input Sir! I agree personally, with the correct training of course. If im gonna be forced to trust someone to stand behind me with an m4 overseas and protect me and our country while I protect them and our country, why cant I do it at home?

It is specious reasoning to say that the presence of firearms would scare potential recruits away from joining the armed forces; what do they imagine the armed forces do?

Yeah that made no sense to me either..... and in another matter I am working out for my upper body in case someone tries something at my domicile....

This is classic. They wait for the outrage to die down a bit pretending to be studying the issue then when they think the smoke has cleared, surprise, nothing will change.
If a weapon on a recruiter scares away a potential recruit then we probably don't want/need him/her in the U.S. ARMED FORCES anyway. The military is a profession of arms and if weapons bother you it isn't a great career path for you, neither is law enforcement.
If they conceal carried then no one would really know they were armed. That is the purpose of conceal carry. I have full confidence in Marine NCO's and Staff NCO's in the proper use of a sidearm. If they need/want range time there are many places to get it locally.
