Had wondered where they were getting the funding. Doesn't surprise me that it came from the feds. Our little town police have received millions in special equipment and terrorist training because it is right next to a major airport.

PO3 Sherry Thornburg , I wish all police agencies that are near major airports, and anywhere some major places, which could be hit by terrorists, could have everything needed to defend against terrorism.

I am in favor of this. It helps to keep everyone honest.

Exactly, SGT David T.. If for no other reason, keeping both sides honest keep everything on an even keel.

There are cameras that continuously run in a loop and sends the information back to a central site every two hours. The officer can NOT stop it. That is the only way that it will be uncontested. Both the citizen and the LEO are protected by this technology. Obama seems to have missed my little community with the Obama Camera money.

This goes both ways in my book. The cops can use it to show they follow the proper procedures but it may also show their misdeeds.... also can they be turned off by the officer?

SSgt Alex Robinson, Someone in this blog wrote that there are two types. One that stays on continually and one that can be turned off. I have no idea which cameras are going to be bought. I guess it depends on the police department.
