Revisiting an Army Retirement Medal, is it needed?
Retirement is an amazing thing! Whether you did 20-and-out, Early Medical Retirement, Reserve Component Retirement (me), or you waited for your MRD to be CHASED OUT, we are truly a rare “Band of Brother (and Sisters).” Back in 2014, a go-getting E7 proposed an INDEPENDENT Army Retirement. It sort of died in committee I am attaching the ArmyTimes link below. What are your thought??

I guess I don't particularly have a problem with it, but I definitely don't see the need or benefit. It seems like just one more thing.

Part of me screams YES to all the choices for answers. Would love to have something that says 20, but at the same time, I don't want a big production out of it....I hope I receive some type of exit medal, but I am NOT going to spend money updating my rack.
As an aside, I think I just got conned into having a retirement ceremony.....but as it is MY retirement ceremony, I will NOT wear dress uniform. Cupcakes and punch for refreshments.... LOW key....was hoping to fly under the radar and got caught..... oh well....

That along with the Patch and the Lapel pin! Along with whatever else I get for that long awaited day! Hell i'll have my 20 in 2020! but started the in and out process in 1988!
