I watched this video a few weeks ago. What he says about Online Echo Chambers is spot-on, where search engine algorithms seek to provide you closely matched product placement ads; they also seek to provide you confirmation bias media content based on what WE have historically searched for and viewed.

While the internet is a large space of openly available information. Some have used the internet as another means to remain even more ignorant to the reality of the world around them, because now they can share their online echo chambers with others folks just like themselves, reinforcing many of their unfounded beliefs.
