PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - It is located in West Potomac Park slightly off of Independence Avenue in a grove of trees. There is more about the Memorial on wikipedia - weblink: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_War_Memorial.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Bothe the Brits and French lost a generation during WWI. The Brits on the Somme and the French at Verdun. WWI was ghastly in its conditions and transformational in it's effects on society both military and civil. It was the war that ended the old order in Europe and some have called it "the end of peace."
I'm glad that thre getting around to memorialize the sacrifices of those who fought in that conflict.
