MAJ Bryan Zeski Pretty Scary where this is Leading. America Under Trump appears to be trying to go down the Road to Fascism.

There were reason for the CBP to doubt his credentials, but someone should definitely explain the three week delay. The birth certificate could have been verified in minutes.

MCPO Roger Collins - We're not talking about "crossing borders." We're talking about living in a state, in this case, Texas, and going to a soccer game and needing to carry multiple proofs of identification. I'm trying to figure out when exactly we surrendered our right to move freely within the country without Law Enforcement agents demanding, "Papers, please," and incarcerating us when they don't "think" they are authentic. I'm talking about why do we allow this and how do we fix it - because it is not right and it's not Constitutional.

MAJ Bryan Zeski So, this wasn’t about his crossing the border with “undocumented” people? To directly answer your question, no requirement for carrying identification exists. And to think I have had some legal form of ID since I was fifteen, how silly of me.

MCPO Roger Collins - No, it wasn't about crossing any international border with undocumented people. Do you see anything that says that? They were nowhere near the Mexican border, and they definitely never crossed it.
So, no requirement to carry ID exists. We agree on that. So, if there is no requirement to carry ID, then why should this guy have been carrying any at all? Obviously, it's not even relevant because if you fit the wrong profile, ID or not, you're going to jail for weeks. Is that really the America you want?
I mean, if you want to carry ID and flash it around all the time to make the police happy, by all means, do so. They also like it if you don't carry your firearms open in public, and if you happily let them search your car and phone when they stop you. Are those also things you're happy to do to keep the police from getting upset with you?
