That is true in almost all Indigenous American cultures.
This article was doing well until he had to drag out the old hobgoblin, socialism. Especially after pointing out the above. Indigenous American cultures were the epitome of socialism. Give as you can, take what you need. Society taking care of all in their group. Sharing the workload as well as the benefits of that work.

"Sharing the workload as well as the benefits of that work." Yep everyone did something, even old frail GrandMother would chew hides with her toothless gums to make them pliable to be worked into clothing and other things that we use fabric for today. Nobody got something for nothing.

SGT (Join to see) - But everybody got something. And actually in many nations, when the old could not fend for them selves, they were cared for. In other societies, it was the obligation of those who could not care for themselves to go off alone to die. It was all for the good of the community.
