That's impressive, I hope his family is proud .
12 years though, why does this take so long? I mean I knew a Major that got his CAB 13 years after the firefight. Why does HRC take 2+ years at least to process a unit award, why are there a plethora of stories about service members receiving their awards for valor and merit decades later?
I understand World War II - Vietnam, we had lesser communication capability, higher casualties, and honestly some of it was racism. In this modern era of communication though, are we just short staffed? Do we have poorly trained personnel? Is our awards system just flawed?
I've watched the chain fast track a meritorious Bronze Star in a month but a Silver Star took 12 years?
