The greatest impediment to "being a man" are preconceived notions of what it takes to "be a man", especially among those who serve. The one thing I learned from my duties as Chief of Awards and Decorations for the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam, is that heroes aren't those who aren't afraid. Rather, heroes are those who face their fears.

This was amazing. Great video, and info. I will pass this to my friends. Hopefully this will help them.

This should be something we are required to address just like SAPR training and any other CBT. The issue needs to be addressed to help remove the stigma of asking for help. I see this a lot in my position and we are not really a combat related unit. Ours center on things they are exposed to and range to OPS TEMPO and the change in home life. I have given several speeches to veteran's groups that we will not understand the cost of this war for several years down the road- and it is not even mission complete yet. You can talk about troops being "gone", but we are still there.
