Yes extreme climate change can definitely cause of stability in Syria. Just think of all the burned fuel burn buildings human remains being burned chemical weapons being dropped and how all of that has affected the CO2 release of the atmosphere period pale comparison compared to the CO2 given off by Industries. Bombs are oxidants when they explode they burn quickly and they release gases. The war's can make climate change worse but you can't put a carbon tax in a bong or chemical weapon but you sure can on the price of gasoline or a ton of coal.

The current spat of problems is a convergence of issues... bad borders as the land was divided into colonial states, brutal dictators and repressive governments, , fundamentalist interpretations of religion (almost always a bad thing), and climate change.
