There's an easy solution to these stolen valor mistakes that keep happening, especially if it's over someone getting a discount or free food: people could mind their own business. If you suspect that the guy in front of you in line is getting 10% off his protein powder when he shouldn't be, it's really not your problem, first of all, and second, you might just be wrong.

While I agree, I also don't want the wannabees making us look bad by not being called on their BS. In this case the Proof was given on all accounts and the "manager" refused it. I will say the guy that started it was an idiot.

That was a bad decision on Chili's part. People need to stay out of the business of others and be quick to judge. It would be nice to have a world of people being nice to others or at least at a minimum if you got nothing nice to say keep it to yourself. I have found myself around those that are not veteran friendly and I live in Texas. There are people that think we are 3rd class citizens and don't deserve any benefits and those that are jealous and wish they could have the attention that we supposedly get. I personally don't consider myself a hero for my service. I did my job so that my family, friends, and countrymen could be safe. A lot of times I don't even like calling attention to the fact I am a veteran due to the mix of attention you get. Civilians will never understand what makes a veteran tick and why we've made the decisions we did. For those that joined after 911, I salute you. You knew what you were getting into. You knew you're going to fight and lay it all on the line. Same for WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Deep respect. I know what I did and I get to take it to the grave, so civilians most anyway can kiss my ass when they judge us. We are the reason they have the freedoms they do and I'm ok with that, it makes me sleep good at night to know that are people like us willing to sacrifice everything and those that only wish they could. Sad that a vet had his freebie taken and he felt disgraced but it blows up in their faces every time. Have a good one, sorry for the long rant, but vets getting jacked pisses me off. Going deep...

This was very disrespectful. I hope the manager is fired. You can't go against what is in print and unless proven otherwise. I'm glad the customer should some bearing and didn't knock the mess out of that other customer. I don't say this often, but I do think this situation was racially inspired.
