Yeah, those prices are correct. Back when I was a kid you could get a tattoo for pennies plus a nice tip. Now, thanks to Miami ink and other shows, you can't TALK to a tat artist for less than $100. Try going to a pawn shop since that ignoramus in Vegas got his show as well. Same with this grenade. Fire starters used to come free with most camp stuff at K-Mart. But once some SAS/NavySEAL/DeltaForce book writer shows a photo of him using one, the price jumps exponentially. Walmart grade FS's start at about $12. Paracord? Yeah right. Same thing. So $75 is pretty cheap, unless you can come up with some cheaper sources. Once you put OD on the package and say "similar to the ones used by all the cool military guys" the price jumps through the roof.

PO3 Donald Murphy I go to Surplus Sam's Army Navy Outdoor here in West Palm Beach, and stuff is still pretty reasonable. I agree with you though, as soon as you attach celebrity, or the idea that some special operations guy is crawling the Afghanistan jungle (comedic effect) carrying a particular item, the price goes up daily. If one of them is caught on camera using a particular item, forget it.

Take the idea and run with it. Looks simple enough, could be a great cottage industry for you.

LTC (Join to see) There are so many "survival" companies selling stuff that most who buy it wouldn't know how to use when their life depended on it.

LTC (Join to see) PO3 Steven Sherrill I am not the smartest man in the world, but once you pull the paracord apart to get at the stuff you need...what do you do with all those things then? Do you have to knit it back together? Kudos to the guy for getting out there and using his skills!

LT Brad McInnis - maybe that's why they call it a grenade, its a one time use device
