look like a good film, also in real life David Niven was a member of the OSS.

I was aware he'd been very heavily involved in WW2, as well as with Stirling in the SAS, though wasn't he SOE? I'll check, lemme look at the Wikipedia page...I know I'd read he was the handler for the one who was the double for Field Marshal Montgomery, I do recall seeing that, gimme a minute....

Yeah, basically I was right, I think, I saw no explicit mention of SOE, though, the thing about the double, who was Lt. M. E. Clifton James, that I did remember correctly, in the film I was Monty's Double, James was actually used to play himself in the film, whereas David Niven was played in the part of handler by the British actor John Mills...I'll look to see if I can find anything about the whole thing about OSS and SOE, lemme look....

James David Graham Niven (/ˈnɪvən/; 1 March 1910 – 29 July 1983)[1][2] was an English actor, memoirist and novelist. His many roles included Squadron Leader Peter Carter in A Matter of Life and Death, Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days, and Sir Charles Lytton ("the Phantom") in The Pink Panther. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Separate Tables (1958).

Yeah, he was apparently SOE, from this website, I didn't see anything initially about OSS, though I'd expect there was considerable interaction, I wouldn't put that past having happened, of course, if I find anything, I'll try to send it, also about him having been with Stirling in the SAS as well....

Maybe I was wrong about him having been with Lt. Col. Stirling and the SAS, Stirling's first name was also David, apparently, I might've gotten the two of them confused; the Wikipedia page and a good many other sites mentioned, though, that Niven was in the Phantom unit, which was listed in multiple places as having been part of SOE, though, I just figured you might want to know....
