Unfortunately some places are still stuck in the 1950's. The old conservatives are dying out though and we will be able to make some progress in the near future.

Of course this is from NPR. And of course this kid has dead eyes and an entitlement complex on display in this photo. She made that sign before she put on the suit and showed up at the prom venue. This is narcissistic behavior and it is being enabled on a national level by the propagandists over at NPR.

She was absolutely allowed to attend her prom, she just had to adhere to the dress code which she had already agreed to.

They are kids, who really cares what they wear? Some stuff-shirt school administrators. SHE, THEY is/are dressed formally, per the guidelines. Let her in, it may be HER, THEIR first taste of reality.

Eh, per the article, this individual signed an agreement in conjunction with her parents to adhere to a dress code well in advance. She did this as an attention seeking stunt from start to finish. As a parent, this is not the sort of behavior I would accept from one of my own children as it is ultimately unhealthy and harmful for themselves.

She chose to back out of an agreement which she made and that had a consequence which she was well aware of in advance. The only person oppressing her in this situation is herself, contrary to what this article and her attention seeking stunt would have us believe.
